The Secret of Hokkaido “Yongenton” Pork

Breeding Method

Hokkaido “Yongenton” is different from the general breeding method. It is bred from the four best pig breeds in Japan (Landrace, Large Yorkshire, Duroc and Berkshire) with the highest quality genetics. They grow in a stress-free and comfortable environment at Hokkaido with rich natural resources, so the taste and texture of the meat are nearly perfect.

Nutritional Value

Hokkaido “Yongenton” has higher nutritional value than general pork and contains High Oleic Acid and vitamin B1. The craftsmen select the best quality grains such as wheat, potatoes and rice as feed, which contain a lot of starch and add sweetness to the pork meat.

World Hygienic Standard Facilities

The factories and farms that produce Hokkaido “Yongenton” have obtained the international certification standard FSSC22000:2013*, ensuring you can eat with peace of mind. When each batch of pigs is moved and shipped, the entire barn must be emptied and disinfected, and new pigs must be introduced after a certain period of emptying to prevent the chain of disease.

*Approved as one of the benchmark standards by GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative)
